Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reduce Food Footprint
I calculated my food footprint and realized that it was pretty high. I decided to do some research on ways to lessen that number. A company called Global Stewards offer sustainable living tips that can help reduce your carbon footprint. First, I will begin to buy more organic and locally grown products instead of mass produced ones. I will try to start a compost in the next year. I will focus on recycling more food packaging and plastic instead of tossing it in the garbage. I will pack more waste-free lunches. One of the biggest ways to reduce my carbon footprint would be to become a vegan or vegetarian. However, I know myself and like to be realistic so instead I will eat less beef. I hope these small life changes will make a big difference.
