Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint
- My carbon footprint was less then the average of my region. My total is 9,512 kgs. The majority of my carbon footprint came from home. I expected it because we use a lot of electricity and tend to leave the TV's on even if we aren't using them. I actually expected my average to be lower because I don't shop or travel as much. I was surprised that my transportation wasn't higher because I am constantly going back and forth from softball, cheer, and tumble. I think to take my footprint down Im going to start recycling, use less water and electricity, and start riding my bike.
