Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

please help me understand these questions

gavinwLLHS

Most of the kids in my class got carbon footprints well above the local average. Is this due to high travel rates or due to the fact that more buildings and things are in use that are using a lot of carbon. Also how come lightbulbs don’t do much to your carbon footprint. I have over 100 bulbs in my house and it only made my footprint go up by 10. How come some some of the attributes are worth a ton and some are barely worth any.
Our local average was around 9,500. I was wondering if that was high compared to other countries, or is it low. I personally think it is low, but is it in other regions or countries. I think it could be high in certain countries. Will someone please let me know their thoughts on the topics listed above.
