Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Being Vegetarian Really Isn't all that Bad
So I've been eating 90% meat free for almost a year now. I still have a soft spot for fish, and honestly I feel so much better. Studies have been done by the US EPA to show that agricultural practices contribute to 14% of the global greenhouse emissions. That's insane that our country alone produces that much Co2 just for a cut of meat. This can be reduced by almost 90% in the next 13 years just by eating meat free. I know you all say that going veg is the hardest thing to do because you just love the taste of meat, but honestly, do you really know the crap they pump into these animals to keep them preserved and hefty? It's not all grass fed and free range like we would like it to be. Purchasing your produce local and natural is another way to help cut down your Co2 emissions because many local farmers aren't going to pump their produce full of growth hormones and pesticides. In addition to it helping the environment more than we can really understand, think about all the money you'd be saving, With that extra money you can work on buying a more fuel efficient vehicle or helping prep your house to make it more environmentally friendly. Going veg isn't the end of the world, but it could help stop the end of our world.
I completely agree! It would be so much better if everyone went vegetarian. I've tried being vegetarian for awhile but it became hard when my family members were all still eating it and I wouldn't be able to have a full nutritious meal if I didn't eat the meat. But if everyone went on board with it I feel like everyone would feel so much better because I know whenever I eat meat I never feel my best. Also thank you for sharing this. I never knew this much about meat.
