Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How People Perceive Climate Change In the Media

elijahcLLHS

In the research of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found that within the century global sea levels will raise 3 inches. That's not all though the IPCC also found out that 1,350 billion tons of Antarctic inland ice sheets have melted between 1992 and 2011 but that’s still not enough for people to believe it. Disbelievers are most in Australia Canada, but predominantly in The United States.

The IPCC has found even more things like 40% of CO2 levels have been rising over the past 150 years. If we’re going to be wanting change in our environment than we will have to be having strong government leaders who believe in changing climate change and a community that believes in the problem at hand.Once we get everyone to believe in climate change then we can implement changes in society to help preserve our planet. Some changes would include more fuel efficient transportation and not burning things for entertainment such as shooting fireworks or smoking. The l ast thing we can do to help preserve the environment is cut down on meaningless manufacturing of not needed goods.
