Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Increases Danger - Carbon Map

alexeLLHS

The carbon map is a great way to show CO2 emissions in areas and how drastically it will change that area. I agree with the carbon map and I think people should watch it to get a better understanding of what areas need help and what areas need to change.
According to the website, China is the highest country in CO2 emissions and is the highest at risk for disasters. If china can cut back on its population and produce, it would be fine there. Same with Europe and America. It’s not as bad as china, but it’s getting to be. What I have learned about CO2 emissions is that every person has the ability to cut back on certain things. Like helping in the transportation category by biking and walking more, or buying a low carbon use car. For the home category, go solar or turn off the lights and use natural lighting. Recycle, reuse, and preserving items all go towards lowering CO2 emissions which helps the world.
In conclusion, I agree with the carbon map. It predicts what  is going happen if we don’t look at the consequences for our actions. People should watch what they are doing everyday until it is innate for a person to produce as little as possible CO2.
