Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Sustainable City
In the past years of living in Walnut Creek, I’ve seen some changes that the city has made to try and help climate change, or at least try to make an impact. The thing about living in California is that most people are so busy with their jobs and social lives, that they can’t even look outside and see what is happening to the world. Most people drive to work everyday, and for some people driving from place to place is their job, like my dad.But a lot of people don’t know how easy it is to carpool or bike or walk or even bart. Doing that one little thing can save so much carbon from going into the air, and affecting people who are more likely to be affected by horrid weather than we are. And all these new recycling bins around town are great, but does anyone really use them. I can tell you for a fact I have seen empty glass plastic and paper substances in multiple waste cans.
I think everyone can just get together as one, take a step back, and actually look at the sky and realize that the Earth is not ok. We are having so many extreme weathers happen, all over the w orld. But we live in the USA, where we are safe from all that stuff but sooner or later we won’t be. As a community I think we can do better to make the world healthier because it's going to slowly start hurting us more and more.
