Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Help the Environment by Making better Purchases.
Making purchases on more efficient technology that has a better battery life will reduce electricity usage. From personal experience my phones battery life only last a couple hours so trying to purchase phones or electronics that need to charge less would reduce carbon footprint. Purchasing organic foods would also benefit you but they tend to be more expensive. Instead of throwing away fruit and vegetables you could use it as compost in a garden or in your yard. It would help those plants grow and make soil have more nutrients. Using less hot water would reduce water heating and would help improve your carbon footprint as well as shorter showers.

I have also noticed that electronics are a hug factor in climate change and carbon emissions. I think everyone could try to make sure to unplug any electronic devices while they're not currently being used. I recently found I do not follow this rule enough, so I've begun changing my current lifestyle in this sense, and I have been unplugging any electronics as often as possible and using lights the least amount as possible.
I too have taken a recent interest in composting, and I learned it can greatly impact the environment positively. I found that the more compostable food waste that isn't disposed of correctly creates the methane gas released into the atmosphere; everybody needs to learn about composting and what it can do to benefit our environment.
