Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Seth’s carbon footprint (Mooresville, North Carolina, USA)
My name is Seth and I am 15 years old in the 9th grade at Mooresville High School located in Mooresville NC, USA. I entered my information into the carbon footprint calculator and got the following results.
Transportation: 10,930
Home: 7,097
Food: 2,686
Purchases: 506
Total footprint: 21,219
My total was above the North Carolina average. I assumed that my transportation would be the highest of my results because I travel a lot during the summer and a lot during my daily routine. For things such as going to and from school everyday. I knew that my footprint would be fairly high because sometimes I forget to turn lights off when I leave a room. What I will do in the future to decrease my carbon footprint is I will start walking to my friends house. Also I will try remember to turn the lights when I’m not in the room.
You could also ride a bike to school and your friends house, that would be a major decrease in your carbon footprint.
