Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Food stuff too

fre5h_b0i

Yeah, food takes up a lot of energy because of the methane stuff...

fre5h_b0i

When we eat cows they fart out methane and that hurts the atmosphere.

Skyemcd

A lot of greenhouse gases from animals come not from farting but feeding, processing. and transporting the animals.

What he said ^

That's true.  Cow and other farm animal flatulence does produce a lot of methane, which is a 20x more potent greenhouse gas than CO2 on a molecule-by-molecule basis

Also big pits of manure that decompose anaerobically is another huge source of methane from large-scale animal farming

Yeah boi

A lot of methane comes from cows and animals we get our food from
