Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

how can food intake effect your carbon footprint

zobod10

after i finished my carbon footprint i saw that i lot of it was from food? i was wondering how dairy or other foods can actually make an impact?

mrclean101

Well the dairy industry is closely linked with the meat industry, and the dairy industry is just as bad with it's carbon emissions as the meat industry. The best thing would be to eat less meat?

reyesrosa61

Eating more meats does increase your carbon footprint due to the fact that they require a lot of land for the cows, pigs, etc which effects your footprint.

zobod10

do you think that if the meat industry slowed down production or changed the way they produce, it would change the carbon footprint? if yes what would they have to change?

alexmar1234

They could trap the methane from the cows and use it in other ways and that could slow down global warming and Co2 in the atmosphere but i think if everyone could eat less dairy and meat we could make a big difference.
