Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Should everyone be vegan?
If everyone was vegan it could slow down global warming. But I think it would be nearly impossible to convert the even one country to eating vegan. What do you think?
I think you're right, if everyone on earth was vegan, global warming would be slowed down immensely. The problem with that is that a lot of countries, specifically America, rely so heavily on the meat industry to support their economy, that if everyone converted to veganism, it might cause an economic crash. Plus, some people are just raised to eat meat and are not educated enough to see why that's bad not only for them, but also the planet
In a lot of countries, eating meat is against religion, and a lot of people don't eat meat or use animal byproducts, which is awesome. But I agree, I don't think we could ever really cut meat fully out of our diet.:(
Not everyone can be vegan i mean
There are some places where you have to hunt for food and other places you cant. It would be environmentally friendly if we used meat subsitutes, but i think what would really help if we just didnt produce as much meat
"not educated enough to see why that's bad not only for them"
I don't really understand what you mean here Ian, is it true that meat is really that bad for you? I mean its bad for the planet but I don't see how its going to harm you if you eat it in moderation...
I think that not everyone has to be vegan to help the enviroment but it would help with carbon footprint, if people start to watch what they eat not nessicarly eliminating food would be the best but limiting yourself to only like one meal a week with meat would really help carbon footprint.
We would have to find a different source of protein that is as nourishing as meat. Otherwise, people would be extremely unhealthy after losing so much nutrition. I understand that there are lots of alternatives, but nothing can sustain us like meat does.
i agree not everyone has to be vegan or even vegetarian to help the world it's hard for people to change their diet especially if they're born into a meat lovers family they would have a higher chance of becoming a meat lover. But we can reduce the amount of meat we eat and that would have a huge impact on our carbon footprint.
Not every person is going to be vegan.
I agree with the idea that if people tried to convert the country to be vegan it would be very unsuccessful. It would decrease the countries carbon footprint but most people including me probably wouldn't be willing to give up meat and all that stuff.
