Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My name is Jonathan, I live in Mooresville, North Carolina, USA. I am 14 years old. My carbon footprint was a extremely high due to transportation. My score was 24,831, which was off the charts. If i did not travel as much my carbon footprint would be lower and since I have a large family we have to buy a lot of food and make lots of car runs. here's my total's for my carbon footprint.
Transportation: 24,831 kgs
Home: 6,634 kgs
Food: 4,785 kgs
Purchases: 554 kgs
Total: 36,804
Hi Jonathan, to help reduce your carbon footprint, maybe you could ride a bike or walk to the places that are a short distance instead of riding in a car. You could even carpool if you don't feel like riding a bike or walking!
I think the best way for you to decrease your carbon footprint is to start riding a bike to school or your friends house, you will also be in better health!
you should walk or ride a bike to school
