Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Be conscious of your consumption
Think before you act. Think before you buy. Make sure your purchase is what you need but not what you want. That’s how you can reduce your consumption drastically as we tend in our modern society to be persuaded by commercials and other third parties, that we need to have everything. What we can do to help the environment and ourselves is to be aware of what we buy, why we buy it and what lengths the product has travelled. Be critical when it comes to your purchases because you might unintentionally be supporting human rights violations, deforestation and contributing to carbon emission if the product has travelled a long way to you.
