Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

I thought at first that maybe I would leave an average amount of footprint,or even lower than the average person does, I thought so because I am really concerned about the ecological part, for example I spent the less time I can when taking a shower, or I eat local products and as little meat as I can or turn off the lights as much of the time as I can and things like that. It turns out I am not even leaving a normal Ecuadorean footprint but I am even leaving a higher footprint than a normal being of the whole world (people who uses heater, driving, travelling more) so I will definitely start making changes in my life to contribute to the environment well being.
