Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Walking

I don't own a car there for my carbon footprint is smaller than others. I do however eat a lot of food so in that sense I do have a larger carbon footprint than others. My family is very keen on saving electricity in that sense I don't have a large carbon footprint.

It's not so much a matter of how much food you eat but what food you eat.  If you eat a lot of meat, and you replaced those calories with vegetables, beans etc, your food footprint would be much lower.  You can use the footprint calculator to find our exactly how much carbon that would save.

It's good that your family saves electricity so that way your carbon footprint is not high.

Its good that your family is helping save the energy that we use on a daily basis.

I believe that it is good that you are refraining from using a car, and about the food thing -- As Jason said I don't think it matters that you are eating but it does probably matter about what you are eating. Good job on saving energy!
