Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
When I made my hypothesis about my carbon footprint, I thought I would be over the average person in my state but not around the world. My hypothesis was wrong. I was under the average for each of the sections, (transportation, home, food, purchases) including the average for my region. I think a big part of the reason I was under the average is because my transportation isn't that much. I live really close to my school and my after school activities. My purchase section was far below the average for my region because I didn't know the exact number that I spend on purchases, so I had to put the average of what someone would spend. I'm glad my carbon footprint was not as much as I thought it would be, but I still will strive to make the environment better and try to reduce the amount of carbon in my everyday life.
My purchase section was also far below the average but my transportation amount was much higher. I live relatively close to my school as well, but I do travel a lot to other places. I didn't know the exact price of what i spent on clothes either, so I just put the average amount but my purchases still ended up being lower.
I agree with you, that transportation is a big factor to emitting carbon. I travel a lot so my carbon footprint was also slightly higher than average.
