Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

YodaBeardie

Hello! My name is Kailee, and my results was that my carbon footprint was higher than the average for the average of the world. My total was 12,714 kg. I think it is this high because of the amount of water and energy we use at my home, along with traveling a lot. My hypothesis was wrong as I was lower than the world average but higher than my region.  In order to lower my footprint I can make sure I am using and saving as much water as I can, and turn off main lights if I'm not or another isn't there. And I will make sure we use the easiest and fastest routes to places if possible. My results didn't shock me as much as it could've, but I will work on it to lower it.
