Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Amani's Carbon Footprint (Mooresville, North Carolina, USA)
My name is Amani. I am from Mooresville, North Carolina, USA. My age is 15 years. My total carbon footprint is 21,100 kgs. This total is above average. My transportation carbon footprint is 15,500 kgs. My transportation carbon footprint is above my region’s average. My home carbon footprint is 2,223 kgs, which is less than my region’s average. My food carbon footprint is 2,995 kgs, which is also less than my region’s average. My purchase carbon footprint is 383 kgs. My purchase carbon footprint is really lower than my region’s average. The majority of my carbon footprint is from my transportation. When I had seen my results I knew the majority of my carbon footprint would be my transportation. I am not surprised by it because I have sports activities when I get home and I also travel to a friend’s house. A way to decrease my carbon footprint is to limit going everywhere unless I need to go somewhere.
