Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

Sdyjne15

Hello, my name is Sydnee and I live in Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States. My total carbon footprint is 9,097. This is below average for my region. The most impact on my carbon footprint comes from transportation. We drive several miles daily which can be reduced through carpooling with friends. My results from this study were about what was expected. What surprised my the most was how much we as a family could change things in our home to improve on our carbon footprint. I learned to be more aware of recycling not only plastics, but glass as well. I also learned that by changing light bulbs in our home, we
can improve the energy efficiency in our home.
