Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

CharlyM

My carbon footprint was 16,327 which was higher than the average for North Carolina. The average for North Carolina was 15,918 and higher than for worldwide. My home, food, and purchases categories were lower than my region but my transportation was higher than my region since I participate in after school activities and travel in the summer.

My footprint was a little higher than yours by about a thousand. I believe mine was higher because of the car that we drive and because we go to Mississippi once a year and the beach at least 4 times a year.
