Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint

chris_e169

Hello, My name is Chris, I am 15 years old, and i'm from Mooresville, North Carolina in the U.S. and my carbon footprint is around the average of my class and my region. My total carbon footprint was 10,239, and its slightly below the average of my region which is 15,918. the majority of my carbon footprint comes from my home, which was expected. But, What surprised me was that my footprint in the transportation section was way below average. I learned that simple things/small things can effect my carbon footprint greatly. So, in the future I am going to make sure to turn things off in the hose that me or my family have not been using for a while.
