Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

It's not just about electricity. What you eat, how much you travel, how much heating/AC you use is also very important.

It's good that you are turning your lights off when you sleep. Other ideas could be turn the lights off whenever you leave a room, travel less, and don't use your AC/heat as much. Also it has to do with what you eat.

My carbon footprint is lower than some people too. I also turn off the lights and try not to use a lot of energy. But transportation, food, purchases, they all go into an account of my total footprint. For me, transportation is a big part. Good Job.
