Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
Hello, my name is Ella and I am from the United States and my carbon footprint is 10,605 kgs. It is lower than the average for my region (15,918 kgs). I think mine is lower because I always turn off my lights and because I have never traveled in a plane. For example, any time I leave a room I turn the lights off or when I’m brushing my teeth I turn the water off. Also my whole family lives very close to me and so the travel distance is very short. I hope my footprint stays the same or gets lower, although it is low I believe it can be lower and I strive to lower it in the future. I can do this by taking shorter showers and unplugging things that aren’t in use.
Hi Ella, my carbon footprint was lower than the region as well.
