Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My name is Tyler and I'm 15 years old and I'm from Union Town PA, USA. My carbon footprint was odd, the areas I thought I would be good in, I wasn't. My total was 9431 kgs which is below average and the majority of my footprint was from home. My results were better than I expected. I thought for food that it would be really high and I learned things aren't always as they seem. I also learned that I need to start turning stuff off in my home more often to help decrease my carbon footprint in the future.
