Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

carbon footprint

haleybrooke

my name is haley i’m 14 and i live in mooresville north carolina, united states. i figured i was going to be about average which i was my carbon footprint total is 14716 and that is just about the same as the average for my region. a majority of my carbon footprint came from food which surprised me even though we do eat out a lot i figured that would effect more because of transportation. to increase my carbon footprint i can eat out less and grow vegetables at home, i can also turn off my electronics when i’m done and don’t leave them plugged in for longer than they need to be.
