Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The carbon footprint of my food is 1,749 kgs the carbon foot print of my transportation is 1,023 kgs the carbon footprint of my purchases is 386 kgs the carbon footprint of home is 4,297 and my total carbon footprint is 7,455 this is lower than the region's average but higher than he global average i don't think i need to lower it much if i needed too i would probably just use more energy efficient light bulbs in my house and eat more locally grown food

I have a high carbon footprint for home also, but its mainly because all the lights are on 24/7.

I'm really impressed with your average! Mine is nearly twice yours, even though I'm really trying to become more conscious of my usage.

Energy efficient lightbulbs would help reduce your footprint, however using gas or coal heating really raises your footprint. So, i would recommend using alternative ways of heating and cooling your home to reduce your footprint. All of that is optional, however because your footprint is very small as it is.
