Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

Matte768

My carbon footprint I thought would be better, healthier, and stronger but due to the transportation I take mostly long on yearly vacations has cause my footprint to be very bad. I hope it can improve over the years if I reduce the vacations and change certain types of transportation.

Hopefully you can improve your carbon footprint. You must take a lot of vacations!

I thought the opposite of you, I thought my footprint would be larger than it was.

dottieks

One of my highest averages was my home. We travel sometimes but not as much as you.

Timmyd1

I am like you my carbon footprint would be better if I did not travel as much.

RAHULDAS

Mines is similar to yours, except my main source of carbon is what I do in my house.

My transportation score was also really high but that is because we travel a lot but over all this is really good!

This is a good way to not burn fossil fuels and reduce your carbon.

rnewton

My transportation isn't high at all because we don't go on that many vacations.

reagannp

My transportation section of my footprint was pretty high as well. I have a lot of after school activities and take a lot of trips also.

eragland1

I had the same issue with my carbon footprint. My transportation was really high.

It is very interesting to see that your transportation has that effect on the enviroment, but at the same time I can see how the long vacations could cause that problem.

drewg

It's kinda shocking how much carbon is released when people go on vacations you would think it would be lower than that because its only two trips

ashrey13

Maybe try vacationing somewhere closer instead of such a long distance, but if you do happen to travel a farther distance try not to travel too much!

shelby12345

mine was the opposite, i thought it would be more but mine was actually really good on the transportation section.

tyce-n

It is very interesting to see that even one vacation will drastically affect your footprint
