Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

sj2k02

My name is Sam. I'm a high school student at Bishop O' Dowd in Oakland California. My carbon footprint is 217,953 kgs that's way above average! I'm really surprised mine is that high because I recycle, compost and conserve energy where ever I can. It must be the combination of lots of food eaten(I'm a swimmer and swimmers eat a ton of food) and fuels burnt when I carpool to swim.
