Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Climate Change on animals
Greenhouses gases, such as carbon dioxide, trap heat in the atmosphere and regulate our climate. These gases exist naturally, but humans add more carbon dioxide by burning fossil fuels for energy (coal, oil, and natural gas) and by clearing forests. Greenhouse gases act like a blanket. The thicker the blanket, the warmer our planet becomes. The increase in global temperature is significantly altering our planet’s climate, resulting in more extreme and unpredictable weather. All of this has greatly changed habitats and conditions for animals on our planet. According to the world wildlife fund, "More frequent and intense drought, storms, heat waves, rising sea levels, melting glaciers and warming oceans can directly harm animals and destroy the places they live." Melting glaciers and rising sea levels has a huge impact on arctic animals and their habitat, their homes are getting smaller and smaller as they melt away and their food is getting harder and harder to find. National Geographic says that animals also being forced to change their behaviors. For instance, many bir ds are nesting, breeding, and migrating earlier as spring arrives sooner than before. Trying to slow the rate of climate change "is critical for the future of many species," Scholes and Pörtner said. "To spare many thousands of species, not only do we need to radically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but we also have to do it soon," they said. Burning these greenhouse gases are not only effecting us, but they are effecting all the animals in our planet as well.
I like your topic. Our actions affect the atmosphere, so indirectly, they affect the other animals that live on this planet. Animals that in the arctic are dying from lack of resources. Global warming definitely has a huge impact and many people, who re aware of what's happening from photos and new coverage, just sit by thinking that others will fix the problem. People need to be more conscientious about their actions and the effects it has on Earth.
Polar ice caps are definitely melting. It has been proved multiple times and is undeniable. Your research is very thorough and definitely proves how carbon dioxide is ruining habitats for animals. However, how do we as humans expect to solve this problem? It takes 100 years for Carbon Dioxide to decompose in the atmosphere and natural gas usage has grown 61,221 terrawatt-hours since 1980(ourworldindata.org 2016). It is very hard to change our carbon emissions, and the fact is that big business still controls this country. While the carbon emissions are bad, nothing is going to change until politicians grow a conscience, and start thinking about the future.
Human's activities such as driving cars or the working of factories make some big impact on earth climate because many of those activities will produce greenhouse gases like CO2 and those gases high the earth temperature with the greenhouse effect. The result of it is that the ice at the south and north pole start to melt and animals there such as polar bears and penguins are losing their habitat.
