Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint

In my carbon footprint transportation and energy were the most, that might be because I go to camp and drive around to go places with friends. Most of the energy we use is from things like lights, televisions and the fridge.

I had a similar outcome, my transportation and home released the most carbon (together being 13,593 kgs). I believe this is because my family leaves lights, electronics, and appliances running often. This could be reduced by just being mindful of what we turn on and off and when we do it.
