Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

ban plastic bags
think big
instead of using plastic bags wich are not good for the environment and rather use a multipurpose bag. The biggest problem with plastic bags is that they do not readily break down in the environment, with estimates for the time it takes them to decompose ranging from 20 to 1000 years
Plastic bags pollute our land and water. Because they are so lightweight, plastic bags can travel long distances by wind and water. They litter our landscapes, get caught in fences and trees, float around in waterways, and can eventually make their way into the world’s oceans.
and that's why we should ban them.
I agree with you because so many animals die from plastic bags and that should change. Your idea of using reusable bags will help reduce the use of plastic bags. I feel plastic bags should be banned so we aren't tempted to use them.
I agree that we should ban plastic bags because it will help preserve the ecosystem. I also think that we should start bringing our own bags when we go shopping. Your on to something.
I live in the Bay Area and plastic bags are banned there. At all the Safeway stores in my area, they don't sell single use plastic bags anymore. The ban was there for awhile. I have been using reusable shopping bags because Safeway will charge to use a paper bag. But hey, paper is biodegradable. I'm not seeing single use shopping bags being littered as often.
