Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
Hi! My name is Marija, I'm seventeen and I live in Croatia. My carbon footprint is unfortunately higher than average here (my total footprint is 8, 353 kgs of CO2 per year, whereas the average in Croatia is 5,376 kgs). In my case, "Home" and "Transportation" categories in the calculator are the biggest, and I'm sorry to say, the hardest to change. My family always recycles plastic, paper and glass but I think that the heating system in our house is the biggest issue here. Also, I drive every day to school with my parents so that too has quite a big influence on my carbon footprint. I will definitely try to talk to my family about different ways by which we can change our influence on the environment for the better.
