Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

This sounds like a great idea but what would we do on rainy days or water spills, we cannot move forward in eliminating plastic until we design a new substance that can replace plastic and has similar properties.

I agree that there needs to be a change in chip bags. But paper will not last long from the grease on the chips. A good start could be making the bags smaller, with less plastic. There is always a lot of excess plastic on the top of the big that is filled with air, and making that part smaller could be a way to use less plastic.
