Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Potential solution to global warming
Greeting! Now, we can all agree that our world is changing faster then ever before, and that some precautions should be taken. Interestingly, carbon footprint has increased exponentially in last hundred years, and what else did experience a similar growth? Population. That's why I think the biggest problem for mankind will be overpopulation. Now this may seem unrelated to global warming, but it really is. More people means greater demand for natural resources. You should also include that in order to get those life necessities they have to exceed the industrial processings. Ofcourse, in more developed countries people expect to be powered by electricity. Because of the current low price of fossil fuels and still underdeveloped renewable energy sources we can expect even greater carbon emission. Also, we shouldn't forget the neverending desire of man to gain more. In my opinion, best way to counter global warming is to regulate carbon emission, and easiest way to achieve that is to introduce population control in countries with biggest birthrate. Alongside with that, othe r methods of carbon reduction can be used. Hopefully one day we can stop polluting our Earth and bring this beautiful planet to its former glory. Roche
