Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

avasusabod1sr

My carbon footprint was much lower than I thought it would be. The traveling part of my carbon footprint was 4,436 which was pretty low compared to the rest of my class. I would expect it to be higher due to playing a sport that involves driving far away for games. My home energy was 3,860 which seemed pretty average. That number could reduce in a large amount if everyone in my house turned off the lights when they were done using them every time. My food was 1, 539 which was pretty low compared to the rest of my class, eating organic helps my number stay pretty low and it can help reduce many others carbon footprints too. My purchases were 115 which was way lower than I expected. Overall, my total carbon footprint was 9,990. There are many different ways people can reduce their carbon footprint, do you know what the most effective way is?
