Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
My carbon footprint was by far the highest for traveling. I love to travel so I go on many flights throughout the year, however; I did go on less trips this year and still had a very high footprint. Although it may be difficult, I could take more road trips, especially when I am traveling to closer areas. For example, one of my flights was only 45 minutes from San Luis Obispo to Oakland. I could have easily driven and saved a lot of carbon!
Hi Melia,
Replacing shorter flights with drives is definitely a great way to reduce your carbon footprint. Also, if you're ever just going out, walking, biking, carpooling, and using public transit can drastically decrease your transportation carbon footprint. If you do have to drive, though, it's a good idea to keep the car in good condition to improve gas mileage and increase fuel efficiency!
