Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

What my Family can do to Improve our Carbon Footprint?
Compared to most families in the United States, my family has an average carbon footprint. We release about 30,000 kg per year for three people in my family. However, my family can definitely improve on our waste production and reduce our carbon emissions. First, we can compost our green debris instead of throwing it away in the landfill. We can simply organize our waste and save land in an accessible way. In addition, my family can take public transportation for trips. If we visit San Francisco in the summer, we can take BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) instead of drive. Our carbon emissions will decrease expeditiously. Finally, we can decrease our meat consumption and increment more vegetation on our daily lives. Erasing meat in our lives would save the lives of animals and benefit the environment. In conclusion, in three simple ways, my family can decrease our carbon footprint and restore the environment.
