Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Food waste
What can schools do to prevent food waste? Alot of food is wasted every year by school students, to limit the amount of food wasted, schools and students have to recycle everything they throw away. But at the same time they have to throw less food away, i think it would be clever to allow students to choose how much food they want on their plate.
I think that’s a very good idea, as that letting students choose how much food they want would reduce food waste. I think that there is also a problem on a much larger scale, however, with restaurant food waste. I don’t think that the same strategy would work at restaurants, with the customer choosing their amount of food, because restaurants have to prepare lots of specific portions of food. I think that maybe at restaurants there could be two or more different size options for each dish, so customers could choose which one they wanted dependding on how hungry they are. I don’t think that would solve the whole problem, because there are still lots of other places that produce food waste, but I think that could help reduce food waste.
