Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
While calculating my footprint I found out that it is lower than the portuguese average but still higher than the worldwide average. I guess that it needs a little more commitment to decrease it. Here it is: [11253724_981698105187602_83414657_o](//muut.com/u/footprint/s2/:footprint:77oL:11253724_981698105187602_83414657_o.jpg.jpg)
What can you do to help save and lower your carbon footprint?
For most of the categories you are below average, which is great. Maybe for the home category you could turn your thermostat down or open your windows more.
I agree, the best way to really save energy you definitely have to commit. It's really good that you're below average in transportation, food and purchases.
It is great that most of your categories are below average. maybe to lower your home you could use your appliances less or get energy efficient ones. Otherwise you did great!
It is good that you are below average in most of your categories. Your transportation is at a really good rate---My transportation is over 5,000kgs! You could lower your home appliance use or update to energy efficient appliances. Keep up the great work!
Overall your carbon footprint is really good (especially compared to mine! My overall average was 15,154 kg)! A lot of people in my class had food as their highest average also, because people usually get fast food for breakfast on the way to school. Eating locally grown and organic food is a way to help decrease your carbon footprint.
I don't think yours needs any work at all! Your carbon footprint is great, especially when I compare it to mine! I think that it is great that you are living a lifestyle that is leaving a small footprint in the environment. Your levels are great and don't need work but I need to try and get mine down and looking more like yours.
Your total footprint is far less than mine. Especially in the transportation department (7,224). Compared to my footprint you are doing a very good job. My numbers need to be improved to look more like yours.
Your footprint is significantly lower than mine! I understand that you want to decrease it but you are doing awesome! Here in the US, our footprint is much higher so seeing a footprint like yours from Portugal is quite impressive. Nice post, Francisco!
Wow, your numbers are a lot lower than mine. Plus really good job on the purchases. You seem to be about average with your region.
Your numbers are significantly lower than mine and my region. In North Carolina people tend to use more energy. Our food category is about the same. I tend to not eat a lot of fast food and eat somewhat organic.
