Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Wool and CO2 Emissons
Most everyone is aware of their carbon footprint and is always trying to find ways to lower their carbon footprint, but sometimes individuals are unsure how to. I recently learned about the positive aspects of wool clothing and the healthy impact it has on the environment. The idea of clothing is often over-looked and we as humans do not realize clothing is a right. There is an abundance of clothes in our world, but most of them are wasted. In fact, in Goodwill alone, 10% of the clothes they get are thrown away. Countries all over the world have had waste deposits for clothing, however if clothing was wool this would not be an issue. The positive idea for wool clothing, is that it gives an opportunity for natural things to be apart of it. The wool comes from the goats, who use the soil and the farmland. Wool can be decomposed into the soil, making it a positive solution to eliminate carbon. The amount of carbon produced in a factory with a clothing material that i s not able to decompose, produces far more amounts of carbon than wool-making productions. Overall, the idea of wool to be a main source for clothing can decrease the amount of carbon in the air.
