Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carpool and Electric Cars
My carbon footprint total revealed the fact that my footprint is 7500 kgs of CO2 higher than the average American. When I looked closer I realized that most of my C02 usage came from transportation, and a lot of the transportation CO2 emission came from airplanes. However, if we choose to carpool or use an electric car when going to school or work, which according to CNS news 74.6 percent of Americans do not do, we will greatly cut down on our CO2 emissions.
My carbon footprint was also around 8000 kgs higher than the average person in my area but mine was for home. I did research on how do reduce your carbon footprint in your home and I was surprised with what the recommended changes were. They were simple things like turning lights off when you leave the room and simple stuff like that. It's amazing to think how simple some changes can be but still have a dramatic reduction in your carbon output.
