Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Shower Times
when you start your shower it may start cold, you may need to let it run till the warmth comes through. However that is wasteful, you can put the shower on low to save the water.
Don't leave it running. Don't leave it running if you leave the room or if you are just waiting for the conditioner in your hair to be ready to wash out.
even by doing this it can make a long term change. Helping the environment and also, your water use cost.
That is a really good point about how to cut down on water usage. Being that showers are typically the third largest water users in our households, after toilets and clothes washers, I think that it is definitely worth looking into how we can cut down on our water consumption in our showers. I think that a great way to do this as the water warming up is to actually use a bucket or something like that to actually collect the water in the few minutes while it is warming up. This way 2-4 gallons can be saved every time you shower (as the average shower uses 2.1 gallons of water per minute), and the extra water can used water plants or even flush a toilet. I think that if everybody started to put this in practice regularly it would save a lot water and energy.
