Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint

My Carbon Footprint was higher than average like I expected but I was expecting my transportation to be higher than my home energy. I play sports so I am constantly traveling to and from games and practices. I've lately started to carpool with my teammates which i think is a start to lowering my carbon footprint.

I agree that carpooling is and will continue to help lower your transportation footprint. If you want to lower your home energy, a few suggestions I have would be taking short showers, using fluorescent lights, solar panels if possible, and turning off all the lights that aren't needed to be used.
