One way to reduce consumption is to save energy at home, so that it benefits the environment and the pocket. Several tips like choosing appliances and light bulbs, use them only when necessary, properly insulate the house and use efficient air conditioning systems, etc. Saving water is also an important contribution. Besides home, consumers can also be more environmentally friendly in their work.

Thank you for sharing those helpful tips on reducing my footprint! I am very good at turning off the lights whenever I leave rooms or anything. Its a pet peeve but it is a good one. I should probably use these helpful tips in my personal life because I have such a high footprint.

It's awesome to see what you are putting into the atmosphere! I really enjoy your tips for reducing consumption. I live in the US and after seeing just a few posts from other countries, I quickly realized that we would have one of the largest carbon footprints. I am going to try to save water at my house. It is hard to do so because we have not had rain in many days and we just planted grass seed. In order to keep the grass alive, we must water it! Some of the points you made to save energy were good! Some other good ones are unplugging things when you aren't using them, I think I will try this. I live in America and I can definitely see how we are one of the main countries to produce carbon worldwide. Hello Marta! These are great tips that others should take to their advantage! I definitely will try to save water as much as possible. I tend to take very long showers, so I could shorten the duration of the time in the shower to lower my "home carbon footprint." Where in Spain do you live? And what is the average carbon footprint for that region?

Hi Marta! I think you did a really great job explaining your carbon footprint. I think its cool how you reduce, reuse, and recycle. Your carbon is really low, and mine is really high, so I will try to take your tips and use them to reduce my carbon footprint.

I am from the United States and I can attest that we do indeed release a lot of carbon into the air. I personally, as well as my country as a whole needs to take steps to lessen our impact on the environment. Things are getting better here but it takes time and we are nowhere near complete.

I believe that finding ways to put u less pollution are really good ideas. In the US, I know it may be easy for some, but not for all. In class we discussed the change from fluorescent light bulbs to LED light bulbs. Although it is a great idea, and much better for the environment, it is EXTREMELY expensive. You can buy a four pack of fluorescent bulbs for 4-6 dollars and one LED for about 20 dollars. It is a great idea, just difficult to carry out.

It is great to know that people are able to recognize and cause and effect to the world; and be able to try hard to make a difference. My carbon footprint resulted as 13,754 kgs, and majority of it came from my Home Energy use and Appliances. In order to change my carbon footprint, it is needed to use less energy and replace it with geothermal energy.
