Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My thoughts after finishing the Carbon Footprint Calculation
I was really surprised when I got my Carbon Footprint results. They were way above average in my region which took me by surprise and made me ask myself, What do I do wrong? and How can I fix it? Well, sadly, I can't change anything when it comes to transport since I have to go to school by train and I use a personal vehicle since there aren't any public transport options (except a train) where I'm from. I know it would help greatly if trains in my region started using electricity as a power source instead of gas, but I don't see that ever coming to fruition. I guess I could also travel on foot or by bike more often, rather than using a personal vehicle.
I agree. the traffic in my region is not so bad, but still poses a problem. We should use more smart cars on solar power or city bikes.
My results were way above average too, to be honest I didn’t expect that. My family and I are really trying to help the Earth (we reuse the bags, recycle, turn off the lights etc.) I agree with you, it is pointless to worry about things we can't control because that won't change them.
