Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Family's Carbon Footprint
Looking at first, I thought my Family's Carbon Footprint was extremely high and I could not realize why. I started to go back over my footprint to see why it was so extremely higher than others. I noticed 1. It was because for heating and everything we use gas to operate everything which uses a lot of carbon. Another thing I noticed once my class put all of our carbon footprints up I had noticed that mine was not the highest and there was another one way higher than my due to transportation. I believe gas is the main reason we have so much carbon in our environment. If there was something as efficient gas but lower in carbon this would help our community by a lot. Due to the fact that gas is used in homes, cars, trucks, ships, and planes something that works the same a gas but has a lower carbon footprint would help our environment out a lot and probably take down a significant amount of carbon in our environment.
Laceyhusabod7sr, that was also case in my Carbon Footprint, it was very high because I use public transportation every day more times. Of course I share a bus with other 50 students but I'm not sure if they had an option to put with how many people you share the same vehicle. I think that we need to start driving more electric cars. It will reduce carbon for sure. Also we need to spread awareness about how important is to protect our planet.
I agree katarinamestric, carpooling and public transportation drastically reduce CO2 emissions by spreading them out over many rider. But, when possible, walk or ride your bike in order to avoid carbon emissions completely
Anamartincevic, nowadays it is a really big problem, especially in Croatia because our buses for school are old, they spend a lot of gas and produce a lot of co2, i think that if we just start with putting some kind of filters on public transportation it will change a lot for our planet.
I am agree with Katarina , filters are a good solution but are still not sufficiently developed for everyday use, such as personal cars and public transport. Until then we should walk as much as possible.
