Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Family's Carbon Footprint
It was very interesting when I first found out how much my family's carbon footprint was. It was very high compared to the average footprint. I first thought It was bad because my family was hurting the environment, and I tried to do my best to not use as much carbon. I looked at my carbon footprint and most of it came from gas not just cars but flights. The main focus for me was to not take as many flights. I got to do some research and I found out that also it had to do with food. The amount of food my family ate was a lot since we have 5 people in our family, it's a lot that we have to feed ourselves. I also found out that also ships use a lot. Finally, heating uses a lot of carbon and since my family usually every night uses the heat it turns out to be a lot of carbon. I also agree with lacey's comment because we both agree that heat and gas is a big part of wasting carbon. My plan to finish the year is to not waste food, not take as many flights, and try to carpool to places to consume less carbon so I can take my part to help the environment and try my best to make it a better place.
