Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint
When I was at home counting all the lightbulbs, tracking my food, and everything else for science homework, I thought "why do I need to be doing this?" As we calculated our carbon footprints during class I thought my families footprint was going to be high. It turned out to be much lower than some families in my class. It really made me think. How could it be so low. I realized that it's so much lower because we don't travel often, we don't have he biggest house, and overall we don't emit that much CO2 into the atmosphere. I discovered that our house, cars, and everything else is quite energy efficient. I now understand why we did this. We needed to see how much CO2 we emit, but also now we can come up with ideas and ways to lower it and maintain an energy efficient life.
