Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

transportation

Leah21

transportation is one of the leading causes of the rise of carbon in a lot of countries, some possible ways we can improve on this is
-try to bike or walk any chance you have instead of driving, this may be hard for some because of where you live but if you are traveling a short distance, such as a local store, try using a bike to get there!
-Energy saving cars could really impact the amount of carbon being emitted to the atmosphere. These cars use electricity instead of the polluting petroleum.
-Try not to fly as much, but when doing so try to choose the most direct route to reduce the amount to air time.

Other ways that people could cut back on CO2 emissions from transportation would be to commit more to public transportation. This meaning that you take the bus more to school (or just a regular bus), in cities, maybe taking a subway, or carpooling. All of these simple tasks would help decrease CO2 emissions into our atmosphere.
